I am in awe of my new R1. It is amazing.

I am not 100% natural on the bike yet. I guess it will take a while.

Have any of you guys come back to biking after a little break?

What came back quickly and what took a while?

Question.....and please be honest! Is it a brand new R1 and will it wheelie from 70mph in 6th if you open it up?

I am in exactly the same position as you "Were" in regarding being bikeless. I sold my kawasaki ZX6-R and wish now that I did not. I plan on getting back on a bike soon. I quite like this years version of my old Kwaka !

My R1 is new, but I don't reckon it would wheelie at 70mph in 6th gear. 2nd yes, but it would need a better rider to than me to do a wheelie in 6th.

When I sold my last R1 18 months ago I planned on being with out a bike for 6 months! Don't lose the summer ...

Hmmmm........thought so......I've ridden a CBR1000 and there is no way it'll wheelie in 5th or 6th at 70mph without clutching it!

I just wanted to disprove this to a friend who claims you can....ta!

I also only planned being bikeless for 6 months or so. I am closer to 14 months now without a bike. I do plan on having one for the summer. I don't think I can take it much longer. OHHHH the pain !!!

Beanbag. I took a test ride on the new R1 last year and if you're talking about wheelying off the throttle alone, it will do it in 1st up to about 90, in 2nd at similarly silly speeds and also in 3rd at around 115, but as for 6th at 70. There's just no way at all. God knows what would happen if you dropped the clutch at the redline at that speed in 6th. It would probably bog down, or break the clutch. Hmm, anyone fancy trying this? We have to find out somehow.

Your telling me!!! I've had my local Buell dealer offering me an XB12R for just 20 quid per week!!!! BRAND NEW WITH A FULL XB RACE KIT!!!

How unfair is that! I think he's teasing me as I've told him I NOT buying until next year when I have more money.

It'll be my first summer for 6 year not having a bike!

It's painful !! Everytime I see a kawasaki ZX6-R with aftermarket race parts added on going past I feel so depressed.

I have made a promise to myself that I shall get a new bike this summer. It is getting too unbearable to cope with !!

Louis
