I've resisted the temptation to buy another car for the last year, on the basis I already have one more than garage space available!

That Corniche looks lovely, has just the right amount of patina, is low owners and (if the speedo is to be believed) low miles. Of the Top Gear presenters James May is the only one I would be happy to see as a previous owner in the log book. However, I wonder what is lurking in that interior to set off an allergic reaction??

The estimate looks a bit on the low side to me, but at that price it would be a great car to have, if it is as good as it looks in the photos.

Please buy it...and then I can't!!

James May's Corniche was ok, just about ok, I couldn't get past the magnolia leather and his allergic skin reaction. Sold for £41k, seemed a little high for auction to me.

(the £203k Ford Escort was a shocker!)

From how you describe the Corniche, it certainly doesn't seem like a bargain.

I happened to talk to Nigel Sandell about the car last week when discussing my Shadow engine block, he looks after it, he said it is absolutely on the button and ready to go. It wasn't cheap and not horrendously expensive either, Golf GTI money.

The thing with the Corniche, and the various RR and B cars of the period, aside from maintenance, is the colour scheme is so so so very important.
