Making progress down the A14 tonight when BANG! followed by lots of scraping metal and further smaller bangs under the car.

Steering OK, brakes OK, slowing down now and looking for a place to stop. First services, under the car. What the hell is a flymo blade doing embedded under the nose? Closer inspection and a vague recollection of something I read in the bible.... it was the splitter, held on now by only one screw. Thank God it didn't let go completely, I was passing a stream of cars at the time.

Questions - has anyone else's Chim jettisioned it's splitter at speed?

Should I bother replacing it?

Hoping the damage isn't too bad will have a proper look in the morning.

There aren’t many Chim around now that have splitter attached.

There also now appears to be one less

Snozz is your man for splitters, he was playing around with them not so long ago.

Going to sound really thick now.....what is a splitter, and where should it be fixed?
I looked in the bible so that I could see if I still had one, if it can cause this much damage, but it is not mentioned, or rather not in the index at least. (I seem to be using this icon a lot since I bought the Chim)

Can I suggest an easy option and a long read if you want one.
Got to search type in splitter, all dates, Chim forum, that should answer your question.

If you can't be arsed, it’s a bit of metal, plastic, wood, etc etc. That bolts under the front of your car to assist with stability at speed.
