Does anyone have the definitive list of cheap flight websites, for europe and further afield?

And also, links to sites which always have a range of incredible last minute offers?

Many thanks in advance for any links

We just booked some 'cheap' flights fot this summer. The flights were indeed cheap, but the breakdown of the charges on the receipt reads :
Fare Details: GBP 100.00 + Tax/Fee/Charge GBP 159.20 = GBP 259.20

So the tax/fee/charges equate to 61.4% of the total cost! The ruddy filthy beggers!

I have a suspicion it may have something to do with it.

Seconded. Rather than checking all the carriers one by one this site gives you all their prices together. Saves tons of time and allows you to see weeks or even a whole month together in case you can be date-flexible to get the cheapest fares.

I'll look into it.

But there are sites out there, who offer fares at 20-40% of the origional rate. Its all they do, super super special last minute deals, anyone know what they are?

ditto!
Very cheap flight to brussells (£25 return) But chuck in the taxes and it goes up to almost £70

Isn't that actually 300% tax?

european flights are great, i need to book a flight tonight to Auz (for someone else)

Can anyone make any suggestions re: cheap last minute flight sites?

If I cant find what looks like a good deal tonight, will have to do it tomorrow, so if you only stumble upon this tomorrow feel free to suggest.

Many thanks in advance

I like www.expedia.co.uk . Not always the cheapest (close enough though), but you do get reserved seats at time of booking. Saves having to arrive at the airport two days early to ensure that the family sit together.
