It seems it is for Head Teachers to do so to a government minister.

What standards do they give to their pupils ?

Our 'head of boys' would tan asses for that back in the day. It depends on the teacher, a strong personality can control and decimate derision using Q and A, gaining respect in the process. However, it'd be a mistake to have a totally open forum when you are trying to form minds.

No they should remain subservient when being told all the money is going to free schools, to widen the inequality between the poor and everyone else

Yes, I did it all the time as teachers are stupid and I am cleverer.

Unless you're a septic, and your profile doesn't suggest so; the word is "arses"

Once told a (fat, rugby playing) teacher his lessons were a waste of my time...

In Business Studies A-Level, all he would do is send us to sit (play) on the computers for an hour. This one lesson I had actual work to do, at a desk. Usual protocol, he gave a quick one minute spiel, and sent us to the computers (situated around the perimeter of the class, against the walls). I sat, head down, at a desk, in the middle of the class. Twice he told me to go 'work on a PC', despite my protestations that I was actually working; third time he said 'stop wasting my time and get to a PC', to which my rather witty retort was 'You're lessons are a waste of my time!'

The class fell silent, only for the Head of Sixth Form to come in and ask what was going on, I rather loudly told her, and he was sent to her office, while I carried on with actual work. The next lesson he gave the same spiel, but then said 'If you don't need a PC, you can sit where you want'

He didn't talk to me after that, and I got an A!

Useless .

It's acceptable to heckle politicians.
Were you bullied at school? Try counseling.

Yeah we had a p.e.teacher called mr roberts who thought he was the dogs nutts and loved bullying weak pupils. one of which was a friend of mine. he went to try and cane him for forgetting one football sock , i told him i had forgotten both mine and i wouldn't be bringing any football kit as i hated football so he tried to line me up for the cane too. before he could raise the cane i belted him . was excluded for 3 days but he was also reported for numerous counts of abuse . and suspended for 3 months. on my last day of exams myself and a friend walked into the staff room and leathered the child abusing bd he got what was coming. he got off on beating kids for no reason. we had no comeback whatsoever but he deserved what he got.makes me smile to this day that he never had a minute of respect from anyone teachers or pupils after that and resigned .

I got kicked out of class at age 8 for arguing with a teacher. Said teacher said that 'Artic' is the North Pole. I told him it was a type of lorry. He stuck to his guns. Eventually I got up, grabbed a copy of the Shorter Oxford and pointed. "Arctic" - North Pole. "Artic" - Articulated Truck. Ended up hating school after that.

According to the sources I heard the incident to which you alluded was in a Q&A session anyway so not really heckling.
I don't have a CEO.

I once had a science teacher claim that carrots improve night vision, he didn't appreciate my lecture on the deployment of radar in RAF night fighter aircraft...

Lightman? He looked the spitting image of Bueller. (I know. Both are amongst my favourite films.)

He did. Almost like they are the same actor. smile

Ditto for me, both great films, though I prefer Wargames as I'm a closet geek.
