Evening all

I've just replaced my clutch release bearing on my Griff 500 with T5 box and I'm a bit confused.
The slave cylinder piston is spring loaded to always push out.
This in turn pushes the clutch release arm back which therefore pushes the release bearing forward against the pressure plate.
Therefore the release bearing will always be turning - although not under much load

I always thought that the release bearing was not in contact with the pressure plate unless the clutch pedal was pushed.
So whats wrong please?
My understanding or my clutch re-assembly skills?

Cheers Andy

The slave cylinder is operated by hydraulics & the rod should only push outwards when you depress the clutch pedal, this operates the fork arm which pivots and releases the bearing from the pressure plate

True - but when the clutch pedal isn't pushed down the piston is still under a small amount of pressure - possibly spring loaded - which is enough to push the release arm back and therefore the bearing forward

I`m pretty sure the release bearing is always in slight contact with the pressure plate when pedal is not depressed.

All sounds normal to me.
