Hi Guys.

Shot in the dark really.

Just got my speed cameravan paper work through, GRRRRRbiggrin

46 in a 40, so, Speed awareness course it is then plus £90, no points, no finesmile Sorted.

Question is though, there was no Speed camera warning signs on road at all. This may be rubbish, but, i was told recently that there has to be these signs warning you of a speed trap. Is this correct!

Another thing, on paperwork it has thresholds for the various speeds (30, 40, 50, 60, 70,) Threshold for 40 is 46mph to 53mph. This threshold is ok for an awareness course, over this and your looking at a fine & points at least.

Does this mean if i was doing between 41 & 45mph i would have been fine.

Bottom line is, i was speeding so payupfrownsmilesmile

The van will be marked. That counts as signage.

There does not need to be signage. Yes in most forces 41 to 45 would be no action although these are just guidelines.

No. Guideline, not law.

Ineligible for SAC does not mean ineligible for prosecution or fixed penalty. However, it's very unusual to be prosecuted under the usual 10% + 2 mph threshold.

In my area (West Mercia), they ticket on 10% + 2, and this is what has happened to him.

South Wales did me for 35 in a 30 back in 2001, again right on the nose of 10% +2.
