Have the originals in the car but fancy the drilled aluminum ones to match all the other leven bits.

Has anyone fitted this type of pedal upgrade, how difficult is it to do and what kit did you use and if poss costs of the kit

cheers

IIRC, clutch and brake are easy peasy. Acceleration takes a little more effort, but still straighforward.

Getting to the job is easier the smaller you are!

I fitted the Leven kit (SSP5) to my previous Chim. With the benefit of hindsight, a job best done by a midget.

I'm no giant, and to make it easier I following the below procedure:

1. Try to get into footwell. Fail.
2. Try again. Succeed.
3. Fit clutch and brake pedals. Easy. Going well now, but feeling a bit claustrophobic and regretting the skinful I had the night before.
4. Attempt throttle arm. Oh my god.
5. Remove steering wheel.
6. Attempt throtte arm again. Feeling really ill now.
7. Remove drivers seat.
8. Liberal use of expletives and fighting back last nights beer, lying on my back in the footwell which is a lot narrower when you are the wrong way up, especially when in there for more than 2 minutes at a time.
9. Finally get the job done.
10. Put car back together.
11. Note to self: get midget to fit them next time, or better still buy a Tuscan. I went for the latter option.

Still, the looked good.

I've got SSP5 in my Chim and had all the same problems as Upthearchie when fitting them. Took about two hours of which 1hr50mins was the accelerator. Also cursing the skinful I'd had the night before, but definitely worth it in the end. The adjustability is wonderful and I can now heel and toe properly. However if I need to fit them again on another Chim I'll be certain to pay someone else to do it. ps roof off in January with feet in the air as you lie on your back with head in tiny footwell is not much fun.

I'd disagree with that personally... drive mine daily to work and tend to wear leather soled shoes and have no problems whatsoever - whether they are wet or dry.

Have to agree with Podie - Leven pedals aren't slippery when wet. They do look the business and are definitely worth it - didn't have the problems that everyone else seems to have had regarding fitting, although you do spend a lot of time on your back in the footwell. The feel of the pedals is much better than the old rubber ones and it is easier to heel and toe.

I originally got mine so that my wife can drive it, but then again I'm no giant at 5' 9''.

While you're on why not fit the stainless steel heel plate - really sets it off, but not cheap.

I persuaded manufacturer to sell me just the brake and clutch pedals which are easy to fit. This avoids all the grief of replacing the throttle pedal.
