Hi all
I posted this on the Jag section but realised it might be better asking here. It turns out my Jag mk2 was the 1990 Vicarage brochure girl before she left to live in the US. I'd be interested in finding out her story before she left these shores. I have the Heritage certificate but if anyone can offer advice as to what else I can do to get more information previous owners etc that would be great

Is the car now back (and registered) in the UK? If it is, you can fill out form V888 and send it to the DVLA (with a fiver, I think) and they'll send you copies of all the stuff they have on file, usually the application for registration, and copies of any V5s as it changed owners. Only the registered keeper can ask for this stuff, though.

ETA - as it's marked 'exported' I guess it's not back in the UK, so I don't know whether they'll entertain the idea of providing the information if you can prove that you're the owner now. Only other thought is owners clubs who might have some details.

Speak to CNC who are the successors to Vicarage. They can probably help.

Thanks,
Vicarage are still building cars and they have the original build sheet. I'll ask them but it's the gap between 1962 and 1988 (ish) when it was rebuilt by Vicarage.
I really appreciate your comments they are all helpful
Cheers

Hello. Your car was first registered in London on 08th June 1962 and by the looks of things hasn't been on the road in this country since the end of October 1989. As previously mentioned Form V888 is the one to use with the DVLA but they would only have records going back to around 1975-78 (when everything was computerised). You could try the "Greater London Records Office" in Northampton Road EC1 and you would be lucky if they have anything (and then it would probably be only the first ledger as to which organisation / company the number was allocated). Having copies of old RF60s (or later V5s) is probably the only way to find out anything more. Sorry to be a bit negative but have been down this road many times....! Rgds.
