What car for 2 mile daily commute
Discussion
Hi
My Mrs has recently got a new job which is nice and local (a little too local) and by the time she gets to work the car is just about hitting water temp so not a great journey for our cars which I am rotating at the moment to try and share the journey.
I am thinking of getting a new car for this and wondered what people suggest, I would like something that is a bit interesting currently the journey is done in a mixture of cars e38 750ill, classic range rover and rs4 b7 (3 days a week the beemer at present) I wondered what for under 10k approx I could get and what type of engine would be best suited for such a brief journey.
Cheers

I reckon some kind of small diesel would do 40 to the gallon, so one gallon every ten days..
Got to be the worst suggestion ever ?! DPF , cold running , no heat generated , no time for a regeneration cycle. For such short distances mpg is irrelevant. If my commute was 2 miles each way = say 100 miles a month, even 10mpg would be affordable compared to the costs of running the car in general.

could your 67 year old brain compute that if walking was an option I wouldn't be asking what car should I buy? Maybe try exercising that along with your legs
No need for drawn handbags, if you'd mentioned you had other requirements I wouldn't have replied as I did, obvs.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
