The more I think about it, the more angry I get. Some bloody woman gets put in charge and decides that in HER OPINION the theme is outdated.

It`s part of British heritage FFS. Why do people want to change things just for the sake of change?

They want to appeal to a younger audience? - well it`s hardly on a time to suit a younger generation is it?

This was an April fool joke that was played by R4 LAST YEAR. I even heard the Eno remix last year... and then it was revealed it was an elaborate hoax.

So don't get all excited.

As people have mentioned it's archived from last year I think.

It's recorded below my office so I'd have been shocked if they had managed to change the theme tune without us hearing a wee bit about it!

Sorry that page has to be a joke... There is a sample that says "listen here" to the new jingle, which I clicked and it is just the old tune with a crpapy drumbeat underneath it. Brian Eno would do much better than that...
