He should still be doing penance for humping that munter from Liverpool instead of sticking his oar into things which no longer concern him.

prick.

Sad grey little man who signed us in to the EU via the Maastricht Treaty that started the rot.

Is this the same John Major who jammed us into the ERM that lead directly to recession and Black Wednesday? That one? Muppet.

Article stated:

Comparing the Brexiteers to “ultra” fanatical far-right football hooligans, the former Prime Minister said they were seeking to force a complete break with Europe having won the referendum with “fake facts and bogus promise”.

Major was a good Prime Minister. In it for the job rather than himself.

Don't agree with his stance on Europe (which is arguably what did for him in the end).

I also think John Major was a good man and a good Prime Minister.

Unfortunately I also agree with him on Europe.

Unfortunate for who?

If you believe in Major's stance why do you say 'unfortunately'?

I listened to him ranting. Good PM? We know what he spent a lot of time doing. With one hard Brexiter he know longer 'curries' favour with!

Major uttered several sentences about Brexiters taking us 'out of Europe', 'leaving Europe' 'those who believe in a complete break from Europe', etc.

FFS!
We are leaving the EU, ie: the EUROPEAN UNION!

We are not leaving EUROPE!!!

We can't leave Europe, we are part of Europe, it's a f. continent!

Do these people like Major, Bliar, Kinnock et al, keep harping on about us leaving EUROPE (rather than the truth, which is we are leaving the gravy train called the EU) so that fools will believe that we are leaving something that is not possible?

Tell the people something long enough and often enough...

Seems it's working! On some.

He'd have been far better off using his energies and experience to construct a solid argument for convincing the nation that his preferred route was best.

That he couldn't was telling. He ought now therefore, to be angry with himself and quit throwing rocks.

Maybe he should join the ranks of Blair's "institute".

I say unfortunately, because whatever happens, I believe we will be leaving the EU.

I consider that to be unfortunate. I have my reasons for thinking this, and people have their reasons for thinking that everything will be ok, and that's an equally valid viewpoint.

Smiler.

During his final election campaign, he coined the phrase "cool, calm & elected". Then he actually used it.

For that alone, 100 years in the tower.

He steered the Tory ship during its sleaze period & handed power to Blair the destroyer.

No one missed his smug grey face in the intervening perio & we're still not.
