2013 mini cooper s cabrio vs 2013 pug 208 GTI w/ sunroof
Discussion
You do know the mini has a sunroof don't you ? The fabric roof can be slid back to the b pillar so it's like a massive open sunroof.
The mini is great for making darting about, it pops and bangs but the steering will be heavier as is the clutch which you mention.
The 208 will have better visibility and is a lot softer, but I could never live with that steering wheel. For that reason I would go with the mini. Chilli pack is a must and 16" wheels are the best, or ditch the run flats.
I'm slightly biased in that I have a 2010 cooper s clubman.

I thought our TT was heavy until I got the mini, but I'm fine with it now and barely notice it.
I have the glass sunroof too, it does make a difference. I've had mine 3 1/2 years and so far it owes me 2 services and some tyres. I replaced the discs and pads all round too. Wouldn't the mini hatch be more comparable to the 208 ?
