No idea what to buy, help!
Discussion
Hi everyone,
Long time lurker....
Anyway, hopefully some of you could help me and give me some ideas or a push towards something. I'm currently after a new car, either new build or mileage under 15k. I currently have a Focus ST so at the very least is needs to be as quick as my current car so under 7 seconds to 60 would be magic.
Here is where my issue is, I've got around 20k to spend but have absolutely no idea what to get. I've had Cliosports, Fiesta, all sorts but I don't have a clue what to buy. Ideally I'm looking for something with an automatic gearbox, but it's not essential.
I've had a look at a few new car deals, but all are 4 month build times and with a couple of overseas trips on the horizon in the next few months I can't be without a car.
So can anyone help? Anything fairly swift, automatic would be ideal but it's no essential, and below 15k or new.
I'm sick of looking at the same few cars over and over and need some ideas.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Narrow it down a little more.
What do you need your car to do? Do you need to carry passengers/children? Does it need rear doors? Do you have to fit a certain amount of kit in the boot?
Those are examples, but start with what it *must* do, and then you can narrow down on what you'd *like* it to do.

The above is something I haven't done, stupidly. What do you need your car to do? Do you need to carry passengers/children? Does it need rear doors? Do you have to fit a certain amount of kit in the boot?

Going off what you've mentioned it needs to be able to carry two kids in the back in car seats, the boot needs to be big enough to carry a suitcase and a few bits on top. I have no requirement for rear doors but don't mind there being any.
Quite glad you mentioned what you did as it wasn't something I'd really taken into account.

You could get a 2015 Leon Cupra with a DSG box.
You could get a 2015 BMW 125i (if you can find one! Or a M135i if you might compromise on age and mileage)
You could get a 2016 Mégane 275 Cup, but how old are your children and how long might you keep the car? (Lack of rear doors might annoy...)
You could get a 2015 Mini JCW (Same comments about lack of rear doors, but more so!)
Do those ideas help? Were they what you were expecting?
