Hi all does anyone have any back to black product type recommendations? The trim inserts have faded quite alot on my Volvo and the products ive tried don't seem to last. I was considering repainting the trims in satin black but is there a better way?

For a semi permanent fix both Gtechniq C4, Gyeon Q2 Trim or CarPro Dlux are excellent.

A fairly durable but temporary fix would be Solution Finish.

All require the trims to be deep cleaned prior to application.

cheers

V40 trim is notorious for fading.

For badly faded bumper trim rub down with 1200 wet and dry, used wet with a drop of fairy liquid in the water. the old faded plastic will come off like a grey scum and leave the good plastic underneath - the finish will be super smooth. Wash off with plenty of clean water and leave to dry. Once dry wipe over with meths and apply Gtechniq C4. One or two coats will be enough and will last for well over18 months - a small bottle is about £20 but will be sufficient for two coats on all the black trim on the whole car. Photo shows my V40 18 months after the above treatment.

Valet pro black to the future!!
Alternatively if there realy bad then maybe invest in a bumper dye then use the black to the future to keep the black up, Wurth do an excellent bumper dye
