Hi

Long time lurker here!

I have a E92 M3 DCT 61 plate bought from BMW main dealer with 12 months official warranty, due to expire mid-May. The intention was to only keep it a year, but I've decided to to keep it longer smile.

Mileage is now just over the magic/dammed 60K. So I've yet to decide on what to do come renewal.

What I do want to do now is get a pre expiry warranty check, some sort of 111 point health check to see if anything comes up that would be covered under the warranty.

Do I go main dealer or independent?

Anyone done this before, any thoughts or opinions?

Im Leeds based if that helps.

Thanks

Bought a 325d with had about 10days BMW AUC warranty left on it from a non BMW dealer.
Rang Mondial up and was advised that I could transfer the remaking warranty into my name and then take the Mondial warranty out to start day after AUC warranty expired. This gives continues cover whereas taking out the Mondial warranty on a non warranted car means that you are not covered for 1st month if you get a fault(recovery may still be covered-not sure). My car had done less than 60k miles which results in a considerably cheaper monthly premium.
You can find the cost out see here

BMW don't check mileage at start of policy so unless you've had a recent MOT or service at more than 60k can check what cost would be at under 60k.
If pay monthly charge does't generally increase once car ticks past 60k trigger(expect for insurance tax) and believe you can keep warranty in place until 100k miles. If continuous warranty no need to have car checked.
Just claim on warranty if anything crops up.

Thanks for the reply. I am keen to get a health check prior to the expiry as I don't yet know what, if any warranty I will put on it.

Its a fallacy that the monthly warranty doesn't increase in price - whilst it stayed the same for 2 years, it has gone up annually since, though an element of this is accounted for in the IPT changes.
