Hi, I've recently started trying ceylon cinnamon (1x500mg) as an experimental supplement to my regular (3x500mg Metformin). I honestly wasn't expecting to realistically see any tangible benefits, but figured it would be interesting to try. My morning glucose levels are normally in the 6-7mmol/L range, which I consider to be very well controlled. However, starting on the cinnamon, my numbers have dropped to as low as 5.1mmol/L in the space of three days!

I clearly need to keep monitoring, but at the moment I feel like the addition of cinnamon may eventually enable me to reduce the Metformin dose. Obviously not without speaking to my doctor first wink

Anyway blah blah, I'm at risk of rambling. This is really just a heads-up that, in my case, cinnamon definitely has lowered my BG levels. There is truth in the studies! If you're a diabetic I highly recommend giving it a try. Or maybe you disagree...did it turn your blood to syrup? biggrin

That's pretty remarkable. Have you monitored 2 hours after eating to see what it is like, and try a fasting test? Sounds well worth a go though

Yeah I was surprised. I'm not really spiking past 8 or 9 even if I'm generous with the carbs for dinner (40g+).

I should add that I'm only three months in, but I'd been stable on those numbers for quite a while, and the cinnamon definitely dropped them noticeably. Everyone is different of course. Others may see less benefit, no benefit, or more benefit, but personally I'm sticking with it.

I like the taste when I burp later on as well biggrin

It's part of my breakfast, Greek yoghurt, berries and cinnamon, I think it's helping with BS but as I like the taste it doesn't matter as Id have it anyway!
