But not a true.
If you look at the photos in the above add link you would think this hillman GT is nice. I did, so went to see it a few years ago. I found each arch is a different shape. The car had filler spray all over it that had cracked, and rust line where the car had got wet was coming out. The body was truly junk. Even the engine had water in the oil. Just amazing how good it looks in the photos!

Could it have been repaired since you saw it, though?

It's a rubbish web site, I went looking for Firenzas and there are cars listed with "last update" from 2013 - looks as if selling the car doesn't remove it from the site.

Good question, and no. The whole body would body would be stripping of the filler all rust removed and then put back. If you look at the photos close you will see the dents in on seal and the other not lining up with the wind.
Just amazed me the difference between a car that looks good in the photos and a car that is beyond repair that I was looking at.

It doesn't that good in the photos; dents, ripples and mis-matched paint all round. Not what I'd consider "fully restored to a very high standard" - and that's without looking under the bonnet or at the interior.

Look at its MoT history for 2009!
Comprehensive failure yet repaired to pass in less than a month.

Rule #1, never buy a car from anyone who uses tiger stripe seat covers...caveat emptor, anyone?

And that 12 months MOT ran out nearly a year ago so it's an out of date ad.

Sadly, based on the trim and equipment the car may not be a GT either. The early GT had the Hunter dashboard with a strip speedo and a pod rev counter on the top of the dash. The standard car had high back, non adjustable seats with rubber mats rather than carpet, although you could order a comfort pack which pulled adjustable low back seats (standard Hunter) carpet and other luxuries. All the badging is also wrong, but this could simply be a result of what was available at the time of restoration.

The wording of the ad is enough to put me off.

All that 'No tyre kickers/time-wasters' and 'handles like s**t to a blanket'

I'm out.
