I have a black 2011 Jag XJR and the paintwork has seen some rough times before my ownership, in the sun it looks pretty bad and I want to sort it out. I have poor boys black hole, but i think it needs some proper correction!
As with everything I want the best for the least money! But to be honest once the paint is corrected I'll then just maintain and it will probably sit in the garage so I don't want to blow a lot. Any advice is much appreciated!

Everyone will have their own opinion on this but IMO a DAS 6 with a medium pad using Sonax Ex 04-06 will probably be your best bang for buck in terms of safety (so you don't make anything worse) and results with minimum outlay / effort.
However, if you are only polishing a single car once it may work out better paying someone to polish it for you.

As suggested a Das-6 and med pad/ex04-06 is a great combination, with the added bonus that you can use the machine in future for scratch repairs or even just to speed up glaze/wax/sealant application. When googling Das-6 I get a few different manufacturers, which is the best one to go with?brakedust said:

I've just bought a Dodo Juice Buff Daddy
to sort out the paint on our new (to us) Alfa. The weather was terrible when we picked the car up from the dealer, so I couldn't see just what a mess their valeters had made of the paint when they'd applied some Supaguard to it, even though I told them I didn't want it. I'm no expert detailer by any stretch, but I made a pretty decent job with it.
A before and after of the door (before finishing and sealing)

the Buff Daddy is another machine that is a Das-6 in all but name.
