Upgrade from 550D
Discussion
I've currently got a Canon 550D, with the kit lens, now whilst I've been quite happy it over the last four years or so I'm looking to replace it (mainly because my daughter borrowed it and won't give it back!!). I bought the 550 second hand and I'd be looking to do the same.
I'm sticking with Canon for the body as I'm familiar with them, but again looking at used again. Current thoughts ar a 60d paired with a Sigma 18-200.
Most of my photography is general stuff, but I do some railway and motorsport too.
Looks I'm going to have to part with about £400.00 as a budget
Any thoughts from those more experienced than I

If you're a relatively casual photographer (which I assume from the above - if not, sorry!) then I might be tempted to stick with a 600, 650, 700 etc - just get the newest you can afford. Nothing wrong with a 60D but it might be giving you things you don't need - with the trade off being size, weight and cost.
Just my 2p worth

Yes I guess that's an option, but I do quite like the feel of the higher end kit.Just my 2p worth

One day I might find the time be serious about it again. I used to be back in the olden days.
I took around 20,000 shots, in around 3 years, with my 60D before upgrading at the end of last year - a second hand body having already taken the same number of shots, roughly. On the whole, very impressed with the performance, as it is 'only' OK, by modern canon standards.
I'm usually shooting street stuff, or motorsport - and a decent set of glass bits on the front can make the results very good indeed, although I felt slightly let-down by the seemingly basic AF system, coupled with lack of AF points. Other than that rather feeble criticism, I would recommend one all day for a decent body-on-a-budget!
ETA: my lenses were a Canon 10-18, Tamron 18-270, and Tamron 150-600.
