B7 Noisy on start up

I have a 2005 A4 Avant 2.0ltr 140 bhp which is noisy on start up (rattling from front end) but quietens when warm.

Is there a problem or is this common for this engine.

Sounds like a cam chain tensioner, my Son's VW Polo does it and then settles down when the oil pressure builds up, a lot of vehicles do it but it gets worse with wear.

I have no idea if it is considered 'normal' for your car though.
