Wind of change in divorce law?
Discussion
The following article suggests that the wind of change is blowing through our parliament in respect of divorce and family law, although only a slight gust at the moment of course:

Looks like a private members bill is going for second reading which if, and it's a big if, it is passed will change the presumption of involvement in parenting post divorce and add some teeth to enforcing court orders on access which, according to the article, are routinely ignored (by women one presumes as they get custody in 85% of cases ).
The author of the bill, Suella Fernandes, Conservative MP for Fareham, is acknowledging the need for fathers to have contact with their children post divorce, something parliament rarely discusses.
Added to this is the link to another suggestion around financial settlement after divorce in which Bariness Deech appears to be arguing for fairer deals in acknowledging that in many cases women can look after themselves and don't need a lifetime of financial support from their ex.
Following the many threads here on relationships ending and the negative experience of many men in the family and divorce courts I thought these might be of interest.
Of course they may not come to fruition but it's a beginning.
I think I'll do what the author says and write to my MP requesting she supports the private members bill, nothing ventured nothing gained!
