Starting issue.. why me God

On the way to my Dad's place to take him to hospital to visit my Mum who got taken in last Friday I stopped off at the local surgery to make an appointment for the annual BP check and order another Amlodipine stash... Quickly done, back out, leaped in to beastie (roof was off 
), and... she wouldn't start... turned over like a whirling wotsit but just coughed and spluttered... turned the ignition off, turned it back on, pressed immobiliser button.... got a dull thunk... realised immediately that the high pitch whirly short wave radio sounding fuel pump priming whining noise wasn't happening.... no fuel being pumped.... went through half a dozen on off cycles, cursed God, cursed TVR, thumped dash in the region of the immobiliser, cursed my ex wife, cursed God again and then suddenly whirry noise was back and she burst into life like the Millennium Falcon making the jump to light speed... kinda...
Cancelled trip to Dad/hospital, went home to get Golf key (Golf sitting in pub car park with flat battery) and dropped iphone onto path whilst multitasking extracting front door key from pocket... smashed iphone screen into myriad of small shards... got into kitchen, cursing God, ex wife, and Apple, had sudden brain wave and wrapped iphone in cling film Stroke of genius, phone still worked and glass shards captured
Beastie fired up no probs... went to pub and jump started Golf, got it home and now on trickle... went back and got beastie, firing up first turn of key... Spoke with Matt, he of Matt Smith Sports Cars fame and well known racing driver who has given me pointers as to possible causes....
So, Golf and beastie both operational at this time, Moneypenny is SORN'd and in garage, and thanks to a very helpful Vodafone new iphone SE is arriving between 8 and 10 in the morning.....
Hopefully this was a one off glitch, she's never ever left me stranded....
