After getting our fingers burned, we've stopped giving terms to new clients and therefore need a virtual terminal to take card payments over the phone.

Transactions will be less than 5 per month, who do you use/recommend?

Thanks in advance.

We use sage and its a good virtual terminal although we do a few thousand trans a year so not sure how it would work out price wise for you.

Just hope you are not an online pharmacy or taking payments for prescriptions or for non face to face diagnosis!

Try Lloyds cardnet, worldpay, PayPal I think offer a virtual terminal too, Stripe seem popular also.

Like you I have minimal telephone sales but a necessary requirement....

Nope, we're in the Education sector. That sounds highly illegal but assume something that your competitors do?

We used to use Worldpay for our virtual terminal but switched to Paypal's virtual terminal as the majority of our sales were via Paypal. Makes life easier having the one and support has been 100% for us

The term Online Pharmacy covers legitimate Pharmacies like mine (Registered and audited by a professional body in the UK) and the "other" types offering unregulated goods and services from servers within and outwith the UK. The various payment providers can't be linked with the unregulated type.

I've just had my WorldPay application approved-took approx 7 days and some emailing back and forth but was painless enough. Time will tell how it works.

We use Sage as a virtual terminal which is very good for taking payments over the phone.

But we use worldpay as our merchant account. The charges are very expensive for corporate debit cards so just watch out for that.
