Looking to move from C2S to R8 V8
Discussion
Forum,
I am looking to switch after 16 years of Porsche 911 ownership, to purchase a R8 V8 with a £47K budget.
I have scanned the market for several months now and some nice examples have come up.
Questions.......and I can happily search the internet for the usual ones......but:
Where to service in the North West,
Any owners near me?(J27 M6),
Any suggestions where to look for a pristine example within my budget, locally, that I can't think of?
I drive the C2 daily - should not be a problem with the R8 right?
Looking forward to seeing your responses.
Rgds,
Martin

Hi Martin. I've just moved from a 993 S to a 2009 R8. I didn't daily drive however, both are weekend toys only.
I can only say as I find, the R8 is superb. It needs a loud exhaust to make it perfect IMHO but they are a drivers car and it's a nice package. I'm 100% happy with the swap. Potential for big bills so get a ppi done if needed. Iots for sale and low mileage is valued even though by all accounts they will do big miles.
By all means send a pm it you like. Go for it is my advice but be aware the r8 gets far more attention, I've already found a gang of youths taking selfies with the car and leaning on it!
To add, 6 speed manual, carbon blades, extended leather and carbon pack if poss, and your budget is just about right for a decent car. No one other than RE performance or audi seem to be recommended for services. Air con and leaking mag ride shocks are the issues to avoid as big bills
