You want one that does - and + recording.

I bought an NEC 16x dual layer job for £44 not long ago.

That was ebuyer I think...

Which DVD burner would you put buy on a budget , looking on ebuyer.co.uk for one at the moment , the

LG GSA4163 16X DVD Dual Layer R/RW/RAM Internal IDE (Beige) - OEM

seems popular , anyone know of any better ones ? Sony or otherwise , anything to look out for ?

The LG one does:

Read Speed 40x (CD) / 16x (DVD)
Write Speed 40x (CD) / 16x (DVD±R) / 2.4x (DVD+R DL)
CD / DVD Rewrite Speed 24x (CD) / 6x (DVD-RW) / 8x (DVD+RW) / 5x (DVD-RAM)

Would this be considered an upto date spec ?

That's the drive I've got and it's been faultless so far. I haven't tried it with a dual layer disc though, bit expensive yet a £5 a pop
