Just days after being given further grief by the banks over control of F1, Bernie Ecclestone's week ended on a bad note when he had two wheels, valued at over £5,000 each, nicked from his brand new Mercedes CLS55 AMG. Bernie is apparently rather miffed that the state of the art security system on the £300,000 uber-wagen was not activated by the thief, who was so rough with his jacking up of the car that he damaged the bodywork, 'I'll be taking this up with Norbert Haug in Bahrain' said Ecclestone. More of a worry for the FIA chief, is that as this happened over the course of a weekend he will have to forfeit ten places in the parking zone as a penalty. With Bernie not wishing to involve the police and icily saying that 'I will deal with this' Grand Prix Diary wishes it to go on record that we don't find this theft very funny at all.

(Somewhat amusing picture on the site..)

NEWSFLASH. As half expected, Bernies wheels have turned up on auction site Ebay. The wheels have three days left to sell, but at a 'Buy it Now' price of only £650 they are a steal...

Bernie quits being Dr Who according to BBC as being a time lord and head of F1 is rather demanding and the Tardis looks out of place in the paddock at Monaco anyway
