I need help what things can I claim tax back on I'm a self employed car trader first year

You can't "claim tax back" on anything unless you mean VAT on eligible purchases assuming you're registered

If you mean allowable business expenses, look at the HMRC/gov.uk website for advice straight from the horses mouth - it'll vary depending on whether you are sole trader or ltd
