mirrors (again)

after my centre one falling off the glass where it was stuck (again), has anyone had any success with single bolt fitting side ones fitted to windscreen stantion or similar, one on each side, instead of the centre one? I'd like to run with and without doors, hence the need for body mounted ones.....

Or a centre scuttle mounted one?

Summit mirror fixing pads are good, my centre one fell off too..............on a 2 month old car!

When I bought mine back it came with door mounted mirrors, don't know why as I drove it for 12years with just the centre one.
I have driven with the new mirrors and since they vibrate like mad and the passenger one gave me a good view of the rear wheel arch I've now removed them....
