Hi. Our freelander 2 has developed a slight noise when cornering. It's just like a faint rumble. Can feel it through the steering wheel as well. It's OK when you turn the wheel stationary and when going straight. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Does the tyre wear look normal?

If so I'd guess at a worn wishbone ball joint.

Funny you should say that, it's always scrubbed the outsides a bit. Had the tracking done a couple of times. How do I check for that? Thanks

If it varies with road speed, I'd suspect a failing wheel bearing. If the side of a race is damaged it will only show up when it's loaded in a particular direction.

If it is just turning one way swap wheels & see if it changes, if so it will be tyre wear patterns.

Assuming the tracking is ok as you suggest, the next liable culprit for me would be wheel bearing on the weighted side when turning.
