Fiat Abarth 595 competizione Buying tips
Discussion
I viewed whats looks to me to be a nice 595 Competizione today but having no experience with Abarth thought it might be worth a post.
The car was registered June 2014 so not quite yet due a MOT and has only done 10K miles, although I'm going to ask that it be MOT'd if I do go for it.
Anything to look out for? Do Abarth do extended warranties? I had my youngest with me today so didn't get a chance to do a test drive or discuss it much with the sales person so hopefully going back during the week when I have more time and ask more questions.
Not quite sure whether or not to try and Part-ex my Panda 100HP against it, I've grown quite attached to it and no doubt will get offered a pittance for it.

They're built on the Panda platform so chassis wise I'd expect the same weak points you'll have had in your 100HP.
I had an Abarth for about a year and found it very reliable.
Common problems seem to be door handles, gear linkages, CV joints, leaking gearboxes and the ride quality is truly, truly awful (but I'm led to believe it's just as bad in the Panda so I'm guessing you'll be used to it).
I'd still have another

I was hoping the ride might be a bit better than the panda if I'm honest as according to reviews the suspensions a fair bit different by this age compared to the earlier 500 abarths.
With 10K on the clock I'm also hoping (possibly naively) that it should be pretty much fault free, the panda has been great the last 15K miles and nearly 3 years I've had it needing only servicing, brakes and tyres which were all due to age \ mileage anyway.
I have to say I love the look of the thing, but I've always liked small hot hatches.
At least I do have an official Abarth dealer 2 miles from the house for when it needs to be looked after.
