Caterham crash repair
Discussion
How handy are you? Most Caterham mechanics will strip the car down and send it back to Arch to get the chassis and side panels redone and sprayed. You could always do this yourself if you are trying to keep the price down assuming you are not going through insurance?

Thanks for all the advice.
Fairly handy (and broke) so will strip and rebuild myself after speaking with Arch.
Just looked at the rear wheel and it is at a funny angle so that will need looking at too.

Bruce at Arch will tell you whether it's a long front or whether a repair can be made to that front corner only, they will de-braze and replace bent tubes and replace damaged aluminium skin. You will have to find somebody to paint the bodywork afterwards and then it's a refit.
Sounds as though you've done a de dion ear or tube too.
Helpfully a Caterham becomes a wheelbarrow if you strip the entire front end and remove the engine so if it's a long front at least you can easily cart it onto a trailer and get it up to Huntingdon.

It's tighter than you think , remember Adrian sutil making a mess of a gumpert there at an early dn event. Check the dedion is straight and the Ali ears haven't cracked.
Owch. Nasty corner that one - not much room for error.I touched the armco after the esses of Hatzenbach. Luckily my car took more paint than the armco and the track attendant laughed when he saw the damage saying there's no way I've bent the armco.
Hope you get it all sorted!
