Evening all,

On 28th Feb 17 I was involved in a collision with a car. I have been deemed Not at fault and the other party insurers have accepted full liability.

Courtesy hire bike delivered to me 29th Feb 17.
Agreed at no cost to me.

On the 7th March17 the bike was taken in for inspection and quote at approved dealership, sold the bike to me originally.
They provided estimate of repair to insurers same day. Insurers required inspection to confirm quote, this took place 16th March 17.

Quote confirmed, parts ordered and due to be fitted 6th April 17.

I called the dealership on the 6th to be told that they had missed a component on the quote, they reckoned about £50 cost. Stated they would order it and seek approval afterwards as insurance unlikely to refuse. By this stage I believe the total claim including hire will be approx £1500 if not a few hundred more.
Dealership reckoned 1 week more.

Today I receive a voicemail from insurers stating that dealership is taking to long and they will be ending the courtesy bike on 18th April 17.

Should my bike not be ready for collection before or on this date, what can I do?
I will call garage tomorrow for update.

Any help appreciated

Read your policy book, most courtesy hires do have limits so it's not unusual. Perhaps the dealership could offer you something as they're making money?

It's the other parties insurers who are paying out.
I am just surprised to be told this now, a word of caution during the initial conversation would have been nice.

Sorry, I misread. If you are the injured party you are expected in law to be put back in the position you were before the accident. In this case the repair of the bike and a loan one covers that. The fact the dealers and them can not organise the repair isn't your problem, neither of them have been deprived of their only means of transport. I wouldn't be discussing the matter biggrin

Yes I am the fortunately unhurt injured party.
I have had 3 conversations where they are asking if I am putting in an injury claim.
Apart from a bruised leg, no injuries. Told them I did not have any intention of claiming for anything but courtesy bike and my bike repaired, boots as ripped and helmet as hit ground.

Should I even contact them to discuss, the tone and wording of the voicemail suggested it would be happening and it was "your garage" causing the delay!

Obviously I'll speak to the dealership tomorrow, maybe ask for a timeline.

Out of interest, where is the courtesy bike from?

It is not from the dealership!

It was completely offered and arrange by the other parties insurers, their own appointed company.

Is it your choice of repairer, or nominated by the TPI?
