Hi. I'm going to see the eclipse in America later in the year and have this thought of filming it all in 360. I'm also interested in doing other landscapes, family stuff etc.

There seems to be quite a selection of cameras up to about £500 offering different levels of resolution, stitching software, water proofing, usability etc and to be honest I'm a bit lost with it.

Does anyone have any experience of these low to mid 360 cameras from a quality/usability point of view?
Thanks

I'd suggest you need to look at the low light capability of any camera you're considering wink

I'm a bit of a Nikon fan, so biased, but maybe something like the Keymission 360?

Look at as many examples on Youtube etc. of whatever you're considering. Manufacturers tend to show off their cameras using subject matter which plays to their strengths.

Have you got in mind a setting/image you are trying to capture? That may help you decide to choose the right tool for the job.

Personally, I'm still underwhelmed by the consumer 360 cameras on the market ATM. I used to do a lot of 360 still photography which meant stitching several high resolution images together to get a detailed 360 final result. Just remember that if you use a 4k 360 camera like the Keymission, those 4k pixels are covering a much wider area than normal, so your viewing 'window' isn't going to be anything like 4k.
