I notice there are alot of of people on here that run ecomerce business..

I have been selling Ebay/Amazon for 2 years and have always used Royal mail for 1st class large letters (UK) and internation flats (used to be called that) for large letter size for worldwide. Currently i have been translating and listing products on european amazon sites. Plus side is alot more sales but the down side is alot more item not arriving.. or so the buyer claims.

Italy and spain being the problem. I factored in the items not arriving and allow for replacements and refunds but the problem is amazon keep payments for another 2 weeks as "we have detected a larger than normal amount of items not received or refunds blah blah blah". Eventually amazon will suspend or remove your account.

Is anyone aware of the cheapest possible way to send a tracked large letter size mail within europe?, I am looking to swap to Royal mail 24 now it offers delivery confirmation in the UK.

I've heard this about Italy and Spain before, and in fact had a nasty fight with a Spaniard on eBay over it - apparently it was my responsibilty to deliver it to his door, not the Spanish postal service's.

Can you simply not sell to those countries?

I have thought about just cutting out Spain and Italy but at the moment the amount of sales out ways the refunds but its the health of the amazon account that takes the bashing and eventually will get stopped.

My brother sells a lot on ebay, mainly mountain bike parts he designs and manufactures but he stopped selling to both countries last year. He is not that bothered as its a side project for him.

when speaking to a customer he thought a courier would of been delivering the £7.99 item. I explained it would be coming with poste italiane and he then replied he had the item and it was in his mail box. So i think i do need to see how other countries mail works and what people expect.
