Hi peeps. Over time I've noticed the steering wheel in my car lowers and also goes in. The car is a Ford Focus 2008 titanium. Tonight I priced I can move the wheel up and down a good half an inch. I'm guessing there's something loose behind the shroud butwondered if anyone has had similar and is it's simple as removing the plastic shroud and tightening a bolt of some sort
Many thanks
Jim

Does your car have an adjustable steering wheel? I don't know if that model has it, but they're quite common. In that case you'd expect to find a locking lever near to the column within reach of the driver.

Hi Green V8. Yep it has the rake adjustment. The lever is down tight but there's still some movement in the steering wheel, mainly up and down. Will remove the surrounds today and see if there's an internal bolt to tighten up

Most levers go up to lock, don't know on yours but worth checking.

Ok I've sorted it. There's a nylock bolt that slowly comes loose
If you look at the pic it's to the left of the steering column

13mm bolt. Tighten it up but keep checking you can still push take adjuster back in to lock the steering wheel in place 👍
