Cruise control problem?

This is on a new to me 2010 Fiat Ducato 130 m
The cruise has stopped working.
On picking the van up 2 weeks ago it was working but playing up, had to wiggle the stalk to get it to set.
Now it's stopped altogether, brake lights work so I assume that switch isn't causing it, and the clutch switch seems ok (had it out and tested with multitester)
Anything else to check before replacing the stalk at £400 ish !!

Where did you buy it ? After only 2 weeks there should be a warranty.The cruise has stopped working.

Without communicating with the ecu properly to confirm if the switches etc are all ok and working, throwing parts at it is your only option.

If you suspect a switch problem, it would make sense to disconnect the switch and test it electrically before you buy an expensive replacement. It should be easy to do. If you can confirm there is a fault, you could also see whether electrical contact cleaner improves the situation.
not sure about that specific application, but on lots of modern stuff the switches are CAN operated.So not something you can easily multimeter test.
Proper ecu or module diagnostics should allow switch operation to be checked though. But again not really DIY without correct software.
