But now Puma have joined the act with leather and suede shoes and leather boots (9models in all). In red and also yellow. I couldn't resist the red boots:

These are just one of Puma's current range of race boots, with a Ferrari logo 'tastefully' applied to the side.

Mind you, there does seem to be a bit of a fad at the moment for race boot/shoe lookalikes - minus the fireproof lining naturally

I don't particularly like these boots at all, however I very much doubt that the chav element will be making a dash to their local sports emporium to purchase a pair.

Now, the second pair down in the pics above: Those ARE rather cool!

Which reminds me, I have just purchased one of the Team T-Shirts and also a belt with the Scuderia Shield on the buckle....Oh dear, guess I'm a chav now!

I suppose it is up to individual taste but I will certainly be wearing them to drive the Caterham and maybe the TVR but never the Ferrari. I don't wear car branded merchandise much and when I do it is never the same brand as the car I am driving. Talking of taste, take the Scuderia shield, the one with the prancing horse and SF written on it. This is the emblem of the racing team and as such is seen on the side of the factory racing cars. So to put it on the side of a mass produced road car like a 360 is, to me, sacrilige. Far more Chav than even those Fila trainers.

Exactly my point. There is nothing wrong with objects like these, being used for the purpose for which they were designed. Racing boots for driving a racing car? Great! Baseball Cap for playing baseball? Great! Lightweight magnesium alloy wheels for a high-spec racing car? Great!

Expensive racing boots being used purely as a status symbol, in an environment as far away from motor racing as you can possibly get? I leave you to draw your own conclusions.

As Puma seem to have taken over from Fila for the official Ferrari merchandise this season I reckon loads of Pistonheads will be wearing this stuff. The boots I have bought are MS replicas without the nomex. They are very nice.
