My girlfriend is after a camera for an upcoming 3 week trip and has been looking for a while, but hasn't committed to anything yet.

It needs to be a compact ideally as she wants it to be easily pocketable or fit in a small bag

Tilt screen for selfies (ha!)

Touch Screen -

RAW capable. This isn't her requirement, but hopefully i'll be able to rescue something if they don't come out as expected.

Reasonably long zoom. 24-200m+ equivalent i think would be fine.

Easy to use!

£280 ish.

Is this too much to ask of the budget?

Got to admit I'm struggling. Tilt screen and RAW are the main problem.

Some of the large sensor (1") compacts fit all of these but the budget, pocketable (just) or in a small bag you're looking at ~4x zoom, longer zooms like G3X, RX10 etc. will be too big and too expensive.

Does she really need a lens that long?

A used RX100 mkii might just be in budget - its compact, screen can flip around, and it can shoot raw.

I had the mk4, and took it with me everywhere as a personal camera for holidays and the like - i found I mainly used it at the wide end 90% of the time

If it is the zoom that is holding it back, then I'm sure concessions can be made. I have found cameras like the Panasonic TZ80 which are just over budget and fit all of the other requirements except for the tilting screen, however, I have read varying things about the image quality, in particular, noise levels.

I am assuming if the zoom is dropped to x3-4 times, a few more options open up?
