How come Rita Coolidge never got a credit for this? Something to do with the coda being just an instrumental version of Time?

The second part of Layla is credited (taking into account the above) to Jim Gordon, who at the time was dating Rita Coolidge. There is evidence/statements that it was known that she actually wrote it. I might speculate that the abusive and violent way their relationship ended could be one reason she didn't argue for the writing credits.
