Sagaris reviews please :-)
Discussion
Hi There,
Would really love to read some Sagaris reviews from owners who have completed there running in period
.
This is the most exciting car TVR have made for quite some time and I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in what they're like!
Something along the lines of what Lady Topaz is doing on the Tuscan forum would be great
.

I can start now if you like.
I was due to pick my car up this morning. I was unable to do that in the end and so was planning to pick it up on Monday instead.
But today I got a call from the dealer to explain that it had come from the factory without the air conditioning I had paid extra for. I have to admit that it would probably have taken me some time to have worked out it wasn't there so I am in fact both grateful and impressed that the dealer (Gatwick TVR) spotted it in time and took immediate steps to sort it out. They are going to retrofit the air con early next week. Which I'm assured is a very straightforward procedure.
But it's worth bearing in mind for anyone else soon to pick up a new car, to double check it has all the required options. I rather took it for granted, very easily done when you see you car for the first time after waiting over a year for it.

It'd be great to read your reviews particularly as you are moving from a Cerb
. Such an exciting car the Sagaris I just want to read real driving experiences and comparisons to get a more overall feel (as much as you can reading!).

Had a prolonged test drive last week if that counts. Problem is its the first TVR I've ever driven, so c'ant compare to them! Here goes though
Appearance; nothing short of spectacular. Looks great from every angle.
Engine: Very flexible. Will pull strong in every gear from very low down in the rev range. Urge goes on and on, road runs out before you've given it full welly. Gave a SL55 AMG a bit of a slapping on the Motorway!
Engine noise, loud but not very characterful, just noise.
Gearchange, nice and precise. Very manly(is that unPC?)
Steering, very precise, smallest input and the nose follows. Have to have your wits about you on the Motorway, almost ended up in another lane unintentionally at 100+mph
Handling. Very good. Lack of body roll.Ride not harsh at all for a full on sports car.
Interior, maybe good by TVR standards but I was'nt impressed for a £50k car.
Brakes, I found them a bit soggy but maybe I'm just not used to TVR pedals.
This car made me feel wired. I've owned some modified Jap turbo 4wd jobbies and going fast in them was easy. The TVR made me feel far more involved. Had the hairs standing up on the back of my neck.
Waiting to test drive the Noble at the weekend....

Hi.
I have had my Sagaris now for 3 weeks and have completed just over 1000miles.Its going back on Monday for its first service.
I can say that it has been worth the wait.I have been driving a Tuscan S for the last 2 years and this is sooooooooooo much better. The ride, the finish, the sound, the lot. It is still a TVR though (windscreen wiper fell off!)but thats been it. A small price to pay for having such a quick, well planted car.

That's good to hear Andy.
Bit worrying going from a well sorted Cerb to a new TVR off the line........
Due to pick her up soon but am assured by Ian at Castles that she is running beautifully.
....YPPicked up Sagaris today. It frightened me when I first saw it! But to me at any rate it's the best colour combo I've seen - iced titanium with anthracite wheels.
Driving impressions are very good though. The engine is the sweetest, smoothest speed six I've yet driven but it really growls with the new exhaust. A really great, sound. Cancel my earlier thread about sports exhaust. It doesn't need one!
Close ratio gearbox is really nice too. A great shift action apart from reverse which can be a bit un-cooperative. Not a squeak or rattle in the rest of the car though. Only things to list for first service are realign gearknob and a little wind noise at speed drivers side window.
This car has incredible presence, perhaps too much for some days. I enjoyed more peace of mind leaving the t350 places overnight. This thing is going to give me grey hairs! But it's going to be an amazing spring/summer. I'm going to the nurburgring at the bank holiday (may 1st) to teach the germans a thing or two.
Any other tvr fans are very welcome to tag along!

Just popped into DG's in Inkberrow as we were passing, their blue Sagaris was parked up outside, so we stopped up and had a good nose..
It's bloody lovely isn't it..
Then the dealership chappy wondered out, had a quick chat, jumped in and drove it away..
It sounded bloody gorgeous!

Sorry too computer illerate to post pics. I could send you some crappy ones taken by mobile phone but goodun's will have to wait 'til I get home as I'm working abroad at the moment. Thought not.
Did 400 miles in the car at the weekend. These are my thoughts. Firstly Gatwick TVR did a first class job of getting the car ready, air con installed and cool pioneer avic x1 stereo/satnav unit installed, all for Saturday morning as agreed. They also didn't charge a penny for installation due to the delay. Very nice gesture (hi-fi installation was worth over 300 quid - that's what the car stereo people would have charged me anyway). Can't recommend them highly enough. If you're thinking of a new TVR you'll get treated like royalty a very nice change compared to the experiences I've had with more expensive cars. Unless you buy an Enzo or two ferrari dealers tend to treat you like something that's got stuck on the bottom of their shoes!
The car is incredible and great for extroverts. Part of me is still attracted to the T350RR route as it's a car that's very beautiful (to me) but not something that attracts quite as much of the wrong sort of attention. It's perhaps more of a 'sleeper' in that it doesn't shout aggression, it does it's talking on the road. The Sagaris is less practical too regarding speed bumps etc. there's plenty to worry about. One thing other than vandals trying to rip off the rear spoiler is that the engine cover can be removed by anyone with the nous or cheek to try. It has no cabin release lever or anything.
But overall the Sagaris is better resolved and taking everything into account I'm convinced it's better value than a top spec t350. You get a hell of a lot of car for the money. Significantly more speed round corners and on the straights, and silly straight line speed is one reason why I got a TVR and not an Exige. The grip is astonishing. It actually makes me think it could do with aftermarket bucket seats. Nice as they are in design and construction, the standard seats aren't up to the job in terms of support.
The handling is definitely less fidgety and you can take your hands off the wheel without the car darting all over the place. The engine sounds quite different through those rear exit exhausts too, and to me, subjectively better. Less raspy, more growly.
Incredible car. Just make sure you have a garage to lock it up in at night! I'm planning to take it to the nurburgring for the bank holiday. If any other Saggy or t350/Tam owners felt like tagging along you're very welcome.

Not an owner, (oh the shame) but I drove a Sagaris from 31st march to the 4th april and fell in love with it
Firstly the looks, nothing else on the road, for the price, gets as many stares as a Sagaris. The sheer presence for such a small car, (my normal car is an R32 Skyline GTR) is something else, never had so many people staring. The sound it makes from the moment you turn the key is simply sublime, even with a cold engine, just trundling up my road it pops and burbles nicely when lifting off the gas. Performance wise, I loved the throttle response, not driven an n/a car for a long time and realise now what I'm missing, didn't really get a chance to wring out the handling but I could tell it would go exactly where the wheel was pointed. On a long journey i could see it being quite tiring as it seemed to move about easily due to crosswinds and i thought the seats were a little bit uncomfortable. Brakes were spot on though, a nice heavy pedal giving plenty of stopping power, the car I had only had 450 miles on the clock when I picked it up so I imagine they would soften up slightly in time. Ride comfort was good, I'm used to hard suspension so no problems, had to be ever so careful over spped humps and uneven road surfaces as that splitter is very low and quite expensive. I had a few minor niggles, drivers window wouldn't drop far enough to open the door sometimes and there did seem to be quite a bit of wind noise at normal motorway speeds. There were also a couple of system faults, A/C and EFI, that cropped up a few times but in general the car seemed well put together.
Overall I had an absolutely fantastic time with the car and really didn't want to give it back.
