Gentlemen
Having finally sold my Elise I am looking at purchasing a Noble M12 GTO3. My expected annual mileage will be 6,000 miles with about 4 – 5 track days a year. Can anyone give me an idea of expected annual running costs ? I am calculating at about
£ 1,800, is this far to low ?
Can anyone advise when the next Noble meet is as I would like to spend some time talking to owners and gain a better understanding of the car.
Your help is much appreciated.
Many thanks

Well,
6000 mile service costs seem to vary, £600 - £800.
Not sure of 12,000 service as I haven't had one yet.
4 - 5 track days. Have you factored in insurance unless you are covered through your road policy?
I was surprised at the owners day that my tyres didn't give way. In fact they are still ok after 7000 miles and one track day. I admit I wasn't the fastest round the track but still enjoyed myself.
From what others have said tyre costs are around £250ish each.
Fuel - economy is not the best but I guess you are not expecting that.
Good luck with the purchase.

I think it depends a lot on whether or not something breaks and also how hard you use the car. If something breaks, being more complex it will cost more to put right that the Elise in most cases. Also consumables such as brake disks and tyres costs a fair bit more.
Also servicing wise, there is only one option I know of outside the noble dealer network, so unless you use them you'll be paying 70+vat labour rates (iirc).
Its definitely costing me more than my Elise to run, although I'm not sure how much more just yet.
I sold my 111s S1 and just bought the Noble. Build quality alround seems similarly high. No real problems yet. If you get a later 3 then all problems of early cars will be fixed.
You have to expect a Noble to cost more than an Elise. I would say that maybe a percentage representation in the new price might be a good indication. Tyres and track insurance plus ball joints etc are to be factored in to the costs involved with tracking it.
I just did my first track at the weekend and if you could have seen the grin I had on my face all day, all the way home and all evening then I think you would be on your way to a dealers, wallet in hand, right now.

My 3R has done just under 6000 miles and one track day. I wasn't the quickest around the circuit either but my tyres are still good, and I do drive it hard on the road.
I reckon my car has cost me £2K ignoring depreciation etc etc. If you take out the upgrades that I wanted to do, horn lights, front end respray etc and just look at the absolute running costs I reckon it's cost me no more than £1K.
My 6000 mile service was £545 from the factory plus a ball joint and another few hundred for an oil service etc prior to Le Mans last year. Factor in a few more track days and driving like a loon, then you can add a set of tyres, so your estimate probably isn't that far out.
£1800 for that type of motoring is very reasonable IMO.
The problem with meeting up with everyone else and reading PistonHeadsis the need to upgrade, new IC, BOV's and the new lights I'm having fitted next week, but that's no different to Lotus, Porsche et al.
