Hi Guys,

I have always had a itch for a FF and wondered what will happen with the used prices when the GTC's start hitting the dealers.
Anyone got any thoughts?

I was in a dealership looking at the FF on Saturday and they are saying that the FF is and has been at the same price for quite some time now and that the difference in the prices between the FF and the GTC is so significant that it is likely to remain the same. i.e. new GTC nearly £300k and FF around £160 ish. Dont know if thats just sales person rubbish but they havent moved for a couple of years now so maybe they have hit their bottom?

I think that's "salesman chat". The earlier FFs and those with leggy mileage (in Ferrari terms) are definitely cheaper; you see some at £130k I think. The newer FFs are heavily discounted now (nothing much north of 200k even if very new and few miles) the new model is out, but they were also the best part of 300k new so depreciation is real.

For context, the smarter 612s are just north of 100, the older/leggier ones are 60k. You can see FFs softening some more towards these 612 prices and the pricier FFs trending towards where the lowest priced FFs are now. This feels like the normal way of things in 4 seater Ferrari world.

From what I've heard they've been reliable with nothing too scary in repairs and maintenance. That being said it's a 300k Ferrari so it is going to cost sooner or later. A Ferrari warranty is nice to have in this context, but it's an insurance policy with a profit built in; nice if the engine blows, but how often does that happen? I run a 612 and don't worry about the absence of warranty, but it's not a car to attempt to run on a tight budget.

Just got my FF back on Thursday after 3+ months in the shop (was rear-ended, so not the car's fault). I forgot how much fun it is to accelerate through the gears - even in 5th and 6th the car is still quite fast - love it and lovely sound. also, such a nice place to sit - esp on longer journeys. Was wondering if I could bring myself to sell it as I do miss having a manual, but still love the car - just special imo

I do think they will continue to depreciate, esp when one adds loads of miles (which is what I do). Not sure where the bottom is or if there is a natural bottom - 456 was down to mid-20s at some point I think and that is a rarer car. I would be surprised if the FF drops that far, but on the other hand why shouldn't it ... it is neither rare nor collectible nor a typical weekend car

I am contemplating if I should extend my warranty or not - don't think I claimed anything material on warranty during the last 2 years (as they did not pay for the faulty parking sensor or battery). I am not worried about the engine, but a little more so about the double clutch box and the 4rm system as well as all the electronics - looking for a fault at 180 euros an hour at the dealership can get expensive quickly. Still on the fence and a few months to decide.

Cheers for the responses guys.
I actually prefer the external of the FF over the GT4C, however the internal of the 4C is stunning and a big step up.
It's a large gap between the 2 asking prices and not allot of FF's for sale, so for this reason I think the residual's will probably stay strong for a while.
A client has just pushed the button on a GT4C and said its a true wow car, so we will see when his arrives in September.

If anyone is looking to sell a FF give me a shout!
