I know there is some love on here for orange cars, but I just came across this.
He's clearly spent a lot of money, but I can't see (m)any takers unless the price drops a lot?

A lower division footballer might like it, or a chav with loads more money than taste.

t body-kit/shark-fin/door mirrors and put it back to how it should look (in a much classier colour!)

It's truly difficult to understand where the remit given to the builder came from . The concept is ghastly throughout and can only have been spawned from an unhealthy surplus of disposable cash or an extended period of hallucinatory drug consumption ( possibly a combination of both .....)

I've now had time to review the photos properly over a beer, and I honestly believe it has to go down as one of the worst modified cars I've ever seen (excluding stuff done on a budget of £2.50).
Yellow dials, in a wood dash with orange leather bits? The manner in which the screen and Alpine head unit have been seamlessly integrated into the dash is exquisite, and the way they've managed to incorporate SEVEN auxiliary gauges scattered all over the place is superb. I'm not sure where the auto shifter came from, I presume it's the 'cyborg' section of an Ann Summers catalogue. The bodykit manages to make it look massively under-wheeled and I can see ten individual lights on the front which seems excessive unless he was planning some night rallying in it. (Un)fortunately there doesn't seem to be a pic of the back, but the description of 'Hella' lights would suggest that they're probably round and surrounded with enough fibreglass to build a small canoe.
Really, who is going to buy this? I imagine it appealing to someone who might have had a bodykitted Capri in the 90s but at £45k there are so many other ways to demonstrate a massive lack of taste the seller must be on crack.

Obviously the modified one is abominable but I am less troubled by the yellowy-orange colour as it is a '70s kind of colour on a genuinely '70s kind of car. Same reason I like Strela's orangey R107 SL, and lurid '70s 911s.
Also, the Dinky Jensen FF, which was one of my three favourite Dinky toys as a kid, was bright yellow, and left a lasting impression on me, I was sad when yellow went away as a car colour in the 1980s and 90s, and have been cheered by ist recent revival. It looks great on Scimitars, Capris, Lotuses and Dollys too.

I'll have to tread carefully here as I've got a couple of Interceptors and one of mine is a little 'polarising' and neither are 'for the purists'... albeit not like the above

I suspect some will like it, usually the boy racer/hot hatch chavvy crowd. The owner know doubt has done this to draw attention to himself. When I saw the ad a few weeks back I actually thought it wasn't too bad lol, but I admit on closer inspection it is awful.
To be honest though, any Jensen Interceptor is over styled and over done. Everything from that oversized and ugly looking rear window to that monster of a petrol guzzling engine. Why they needed such a large (and know doubt very expensive to run) engine in them I don't know.

Err......prior to start of the Oil Crisis at the end of 1974 when the price of a barrel of oil trebled from US$3 per barrel to US$9 in the space of 6 months, good old leaded 5 Star petrol was about 40p per GALLON, and no one really gave a flying fk about fuel economy.It was one of the (many) reasons that contributed to the Interceptors demise in 1976.
