Cheap phone contracts
Discussion
In desperate need for a new phone, found a website, buy mobiles net, has anyone heard of it? Apparently been going for years and massively undercuts the network websites.
Is it likely it will be refurbed phones they sell? I can get an s7 for 25 a month with data etc, seems too good to be true.

I had an iPhone 6 and didn't like it and preferred the iPhone SE.
I went on mobilephonesdirect.co.uk and got a 64Gb SE, unlimited minutes and texts, 24Gb of data (!!!) and it's also free minutes and texts when you're roaming but the data is 2Gb.
£27.50 a month, no upfront etc. That was pretty cheap.

Yeah they are legit. Is it likely it will be refurbed phones they sell? I can get an s7 for 25 a month with data etc, seems too good to be true.
£25 a month for the S7 seems reasonable.
It may come down in price when the S8 is out. I got the S7 last year with 10gb data and pay about £32.

I have completely unlimited data (8gb tethering and 12gb international roaming limit, but otherwise no limits), 600 minutes and unlimited texts, for £22 pcm on a sim only basis. I then bought the phone upfront and over the 2 year period that a contract would be for, I saved quite a bit.

I did this last time, but these websites make it cheaper than doing it that way it seems.dieseluser07 said:
Have they always been new handsets? Never got a refurb?
Dunno. Call and ask.To be honest I think you are over analysing it. When the phone arrives, wherever you get it, you have 14 days to cancel so just check it over.
If its a refurb that looks perfectly new, with full warranty and the price is good- does it really matter?

mobiles.co.uk is a subsidiary of carphone. Subsidised the deals with cashback paid every quarter, my oh is tight and has been using it for a while. No issues.
Have they always been new handsets? Never got a refurb? They were great to deal with and I actually asked if handsets were refurbished and the answer was "no they are brand new but we do have refurbs which are cheaper still if you want"
I took a brand new handset. Would buy from them again happily.

I don't think there's much between the S7 and S8 , certainly in terms of user experience.
The screen is bigger on the S8, slightly faster processor, but unless you are a phone buff the S7 will be perfectly good for you.
Comparing it to an iPhone isn't really fair. I personally hate Apply devices, I have had work iPhones and I never, ever use them. But if you like the Apple design and UI then go for that.
Techradar have some great reviews and comparisons.

I think what puts me off samsung is i dont like the overlay they use, it looks exactly like it did when i had s3 so many years ago, the phone will be a 2 year contract, so will the s7 hold out performance wise? The screen is bigger on the S8, slightly faster processor, but unless you are a phone buff the S7 will be perfectly good for you.

Out of the s7, iphone 7 and galaxy s8, which is the best phone? Obviously the s7 is mega cheap, just wondering how much better the s8 or iphone 7 is.
I know people like you
Its all marketing crap selling you stuff you don't need, and life is too short to care about overlay aesthetics. Get the one that is the best price (take a quick look at online android forums for any issues that exist), or do what many people do and get a sim only contract and then buy the phone cheaper off ebay/classified forums either new with warranty or cheaper used.
Decent spec smartphones are now good enough that you don't need to upgrade unless its broken or the company release an update which slows everything down around the time the next model is out! As long as its Qualcom 2.0 onwards then charging is quick too.
I have a Motorola Nexus 6 which came out in 2014, pure android and Google still send out updates regularly.
