Not much of an idea about the Masser Craig but I have driven the 456 with a 5ft 10 friend sat behind me (I'm 6ft btw) It was ok but a bit of a tight squeeze and you probably wouldnt want to do more than about an hour at a time.

It's not really a true 2+2 like the 612 but is ok for short trips or short(ish) people.

The boot is a good size but again I can't compare it to a 3200 as I havent seen one. You can fit a couple of those medium size flight cases in but anything else can go in the back seats if you havent got passengers.

Unless you need to take 4 people on a regular basis I doubt there would be that much difference between the 456 and the Masser.

Let me know if you need some pics and I should be able to sort some out on the weekend for you.

Craig- it's less rear seat room but more boot space.

lovely thanks guys.

am sorely tempted and always loved them, well, when I say loved, its more erring towards the side of obsession

Am slightly deterred by running costs but its an FCAR so hey ho!

.....and it's a V12... surely that's a more important buying decision than boot space or rear leg room!?!?

I have been in the back of a 456 and seemed about the same leg room as a 996 but more of a proper seat....uncomfortable...but well worth it for the experience.
<<sorry to hijack Craig, but Tony where is the write up on your new beast??? It looks amazing, I would love to hear of comparisons with your previous Diablo.>>

Careful craig - just cos your Masser has the same auto box as the 456 doesn't mean you have to swap to one

Seriously though - if you can do it - saw a beautiful GTA parked on Sloane Avenue this lunchtime in dark blue with tan interior, it really does look gorgeous in the proper understated V12 Fcar way

I'm 6ft !

It was a bit of a squeeze but fine for transportation to the local purveyor of fermented beverages.

So far so good mate. No problems whatsoever. It probably covered around six thousand miles last year, including quite a few hard ones at VMAX and feels solid as a rock. Just had one routine service.

The big test will come later on this year when we take it on the Ferrari Owners Club Tour, 8 days and about 3000 miles around Europe. Cant wait.

Been to see any yet?

craig - I have back issue of evo with 456 costs for service / parts prices etc.

Might be worth a mail to "benno" on this forum - he ran one for a while (may still have it) ..

Has anyone any thoughts on the difference in running costs between a 3200 and a 456? I've been lurking here for a while whilst thinking of buying a 3200. It seems to me the 456 would be pretty similar on running costs and maybe 10k more to buy but I've no practical experience of either.

I'm expecting a 456 to cost a lot more to run than my 3200 if it helps.

From Memory Bennno found his 456 cost a lot more to run than anyone expected. At the opposite Kevin's car seems to have been run on a very reasonable budget.

DAZ

BTW, a manual car would be preferrable , I know Jason360_hasgone didn't like the auto box on a loan 456 he had for a while (not many gears).

456s are beautiful, 'nuff said (and even more so than the Maser which is a stunning car too). Actually - I was at Verdis recently (he's a great guy Karl...oh sorry, thought I was on FChat for a minute ) and a guy had just collected his tubi'd 456 - it sounded superb....

At least one car about for £36k too - at that price, you could afford to have a couple of electric windows fail and not worry!

There are 3 in the PH classifieds about that much at the moment. Verdi have a gorgeous blue/tan car but it's an auto. I don't like the colours of the other two, but I'm sure there are others around.

A couple of electric windows isn't what I'm worried about, even at Ferrari prices. Something like an engine rebuild, however, would be a nasty scare.
