SQUEEKY CHIM DASHBOARD

My chimaera has developed an annoying squeek/rattle from the top of the dash board on the passenger side of the car,can any one help me remedy the situation CHEERS

It sounds like something rubbing - take the dash top off and drive along to see if the sound has gone, if it hasn't you'll now be able to locate it more easily. If it has then the top is at fault and needs a bit of padding somewhere. Images of how to get to top off on my website www.motion-lotion.co.uk

Good luck Bluethunder! I've been taking the dash board apart so much I have replaced the nuts with wing nuts, still can't find the squeak, but will try trefor's suggestion of driving with no dash...
The other options are turning up the stereo or driving with top down, naturally I opted for the latter...with sports exhaust even better...

On the passenger side of my dash there is a bracket and screw(dash top needs to be removed to see) which joins the dash to the main body. This is pretty loose and as such my dash squeeks now and then.

Thump it close to the source of the noise, increasing in force until it stops...

Can some one give me instructions on how to dismantle the dashboard only i cant get on to TREFOR,s web page, it keeps coming back as page error??

Hmm, must be because I forgot to log on for 90 days and freenetname suspended it. I did get a letter from them asking for money ... I thought they'd leave it up for a while. I need to find myself another decent free web service now ... any suggestions? Hang on, I use BT Openworld maybe they provide one.
