Hi

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for software to keep track of staff holidays and who should be in during shifts.
Its for 2 small businesses, around 25 employees. There are quite a few part time employees and I find that I'm struggling to keep track of holidays etc. I understand that its partly of my own making in an attempt to be flexible with staff when kids are off etc but
I need something to keep all in one place.

I don't like paper diaries etc and use a calendar on the wall at present but I move back and forward between businesses and be out a fair bit so a simple, cheap app or similar woud be a big help

thanks in advance

an excel spreadsheet?? each month on an individual tab with an extra tab for a summary page.

every day of the month in a column along the top, names down the side. colour the box red if they take a holiday (blue for stat holidays) and add a number 1 (or 0.5 if you do half days or hours if you book holidays by the hour). total at the end of each line telling you number of holidays taken that month.

all this info pulled through to the summary page- total days to take, total taken, number of days left.....

would take a wee bit of time to set up, but pretty simple once you have it going.

No affiliation or experience, but I saw an advert for www.whosoff.com the other day which looked interesting!

Unsure of cost, but we use TimeTastic where I work and it's really quite good. Nice visual views and easy to update.
