As the DVLA also know, it isn't a real Siata but a Fiat-based fake, or as the weasel has it "evocation".

Tastefully done but it's as road legal as a Robin Hood on a Cortina registration. Good luck to the new owner getting it through the IVA.

Granted it has a current V5, MOT even, it's just not for the car that is in the pictures. As for passing the IVA, not a hope in its current state, the list of obvious failure points is long. That's one of the reasons why so many 'evocations' are being driven on documents relating to a car which may or may not have provided some of the components, precisely as a way of evading the IVA.

But if it has a V5 then it doesn't need an IVA, does it? Legally you just get the V5 in your name, insure and tax it, and you're done. One thing that may be a headache is that if the V5 says it's 2016 then it has to meet modern emissions, which is a non starter. If it says 1950 though, no issue.

Any car that has been altered in certain ways from its original specification needs to be approved in its new state. The process for this is the Individual Vehicle Approval test and certification. This is a stringent test designed primarily for the safety of occupants and anybody else who might come in to contact with it.

No car of the type shown could pass this test. So the way builders evade this is by using the documents for a related vehicle and hoping the authorities won't find out.

Looking at the larger pics in the auction listing, if it IS a recent "evocation", then it's been patinated very well indeed.
