whos trolling, it was a serious question, it happened just before the elections in Madrid and could happen in London for the same reasons.

What reasons would they be?

I would be very surprised if there isn't an attack on the UK before the general election.Even the retiring metropolitan police chief said there would be a large scale attack on this country this year, and yes it would play into the BNP's hands.

If there is an attack of some sort, I don't think it will effect the outcome of the election to the fundamentalists favour.

Also, unlike in Spain, the opposition ion the UK (Tories) are likely to take more of a hard line than the current mob.

I reckon it's a pretty reasonable question.

I should think that Special Branch are crapping themselves, all hands to the pump so to say. It may happen, but you have to consider that all the previous exploits have been geographically closer to islamic hotspots like Tunisia, Turkey and such.

It's anyones guess how well pinned down the situation is, but I'd not be surprised if something happened.

I wonder how it would look poitically if Mr Blair called in the tanks prior to the election. As a result of this idea, I suggest that tension over this issue will be high. It'll be a fight between scaremongery, public perception, and the saftey of the public.

Perhaps this is the order in which TB thinks of them.
sorry

Would be nice of them to bomb the office that holds my mortgage records.

Sigh.....

Still, if there is an attack of some description, it would play right into the hands of those who want ID cards and tougher control of the populace.

It wasn't long ago that the IRA were bombing England and London - it's not really any different IMO. The threat is there but everyone goes about their daily business and gets on fine - no need to start boarding up the windows just because an election is coming.

Well I'll have to disagree with you there.

I'd rather we dished out our own justice in the first instance.

Secondly, thinking of them as scumbags doesn't do anyone any favours. Tring to understand what their motives and ideals are is a better approach. One doesn't have to agree with them, even if one understands what they're up to.

As for them being the enemy.... They're only part of the enemy if they're in the enemies loop. From the perspective of the real enemy, they'd be too much of a risk to communicate with.

The real worry is the unknown.

I don't think there's anything that would be gained from a terrorist attack. There's no particularly muslim friendly party in the UK that a mass of the electorate could be swayed towards voting for.

Please be aware that Hardcore2000 is a supporter of the BNP with some "interesting views" expressed in other threads, and very few answers to even vaguely robust questioning.

I'm not sure that they'd potentially do it to have a particular effect, more to demonstrate that they can have "an" effect.

Which would suit a devisive, anarchic terrorist faction wishing to spread as much unrest between people as possible.

Yes, but that wouldn't do anything apart from hand Blair the initiative. I'm quite surprised it's been so long without an attack really.

Hmm, Maybe I'm being thick.... (I usually am )

What sort of initiative?

If you mean how it would look, I'd have thought that some form of tough stance at this stage would reflect badly on him. You know, he's got it wrong again and had to get tough.
